Day 392, Open for business?

So today I drove around for hours looking for a parking spot at the mall. How frustrating is that? Know where I finally had to park? On the very top of the parking structure, in the farthest corner of the very back wall. My goal? To find a pantsuit, get in line, and use my extra savings coupon. Ah, but in order to do that, I had to make my purchase before 1PM. Guess where I was at 1? Sneaking into a handicap dressing room, because the line for the regular rooms was hopelessly long. Yes I know that is stooping to a new low for me, and to make it even worse, none of the suits fit me. Some sort of poetic justice I suppose.

And here's another point of frustration for me....I want to have the windows in my new car tinted. Don't you think most people who have their windows tinted would get it done on a Saturday? Apparently not. Apparently window-tinting is a Mon-Fri only service. Who'd 'of thunk it?

Well, Ron. Would you walk 500 miles.... and walk 500 more just to fall down at my door? With your knees? If that ain't love, I don't know what is :-)

Day 379, Satisfying Saturday

Satisfying why? Because the weather was amazing today.... warm, with a cool breeze that made it feel like Fall, because my day began with a 5-hour visit with good friend Sharon...sitting at the bistro by The Coffee Bean, because Ron brought Sonic for dinner, because I took an invigorating 2-mile walk, and because Jane is here :) Oh, and how can I forget my rootbeer float?

Yeah. It was a good day :)

Day 372, Saturday Slummin'

Too tired to write... and besides, it's after midnight. Just thought I'd let you know that today I went out in public with no make up and no shower. That's twice in the past month I've slummed it. Hmmmm. Should I be worried?

Took Ellen to the movies.... We had free passes.... We saw the new Jennifer Anniston movie... Switch... or whatever the title is. It was cute. Predictable, cliche', but cute. The kid makes the movie!! What a cutie :)

Made my PPT for work on Monday... See? Good attitude, right?

Day 352, Countdown

Countdown to what? The end of vacation? The beginning of a new school year? The end of my 365-day blog goal? Yes to all of the above. Life seems to be about countdowns, doesn't it? And I am already counting down the days till my next trip to Hawaii.

Today Ron, Ellen, and I went and saw Charlie St. Cloud. The critics hated it... said to skip it.... but we liked it... I really liked it. I cried most of the way through it, but thought the message was a meaningful one.... and the acting was great. I suppose with no boob shots, "f" bombs, or graphic violence, the critics lost interest. Apparently the general public shares that sentiment because the theatre was empty. Oh well.

The rest of the day I pretty much slept....and read. Exciting, eh? Well, there was the bit where I had to chase Mick all over the neighborhood....dork dog!

Day 311, Babysitting Jane

Ron and I took a trip to the Farmer's Market in Old Town this morning... our first time. I thought it was pretty darn cool. We shared a crepe while sitting outside and enjoying the ambience of Old Town, and we spent a small fortune on organically grown fresh fruits and vegetables. Easy to go overboard in a place like that.

Bought my couch today. Won't be delivered for a week or two, but when it is, I will have a complete living room set for the first time since we moved here. Only took 8 years :) I also bought a full/full bunk bed for the room that used to be Raechel's. Aye !! Taylor is going to be one very busy camper in the next week.... cuz that room needs a total makeover. Welcome home "Tay."

Jane is visiting us tonight.... Yay. What a doll. It's fun to be grandma :) And it's great to have a baby in the house.

Tomorrow is Father's Day.... I hope Ron likes his gift :)

Day 283, Days of our lives...

Our day actually began last night....or rather, early this morning... around midnight. Ron and I had some uninvited visitors who donated to our year's supply of toilet paper. They got us pretty good, I must admit. So, there we were, pulling toilet paper out of our grass, bushes, and trees under the umbrella of a moonlit sky. Ah, how romantic ;)

We had a great visit with Jane, who, we discovered, loves to laugh at people in pain :) What a cutie.

Tonight, we attended Jesse and Brittney's wedding reception. How cool was that? They are such a cute couple....and so young!! The reception was really nice... and oh man... those cream-filled cupcakes were to die for. Eeh gads.... that won't help my weight loss program.

I'm such a whiner!
