Day 296, Friday night with the Morgans

Today I got to see my students again...that was fun. I graded 100 Book Bag projects :) They were  fun... some were absolutely amazing. Whenever I assign a project like this,,, I hate scoring them,,, but there are always those select few that blow me away.... so that's why I do it. Sometimes, often, it's the most unlikely students that produce the most amazing projects.

Had a long talk with my Principal and AP today.... It helps to gain the perspective of those with experience.

My grade book disappeared at 4:00 today.... so I could not access any grades. Since bubble sheets are due Monday,,,, I'd say I'm up a creek with a rubber paddle... don't ya think? Notice,,, there is no panic or stress in my words..... you see? I'm perfectly at peace :) No worries.

I'll just give them all "A"s... That oughta do it :)

Tonight I ate Panda. I really thought that after a week of the RESET program, that my stomach would feel full after a few bites. Nope. Not a chance. I ordered a 2 entry meal and practically licked the styrofoam clean :) Gotta love those Chinese!!

Can't believe school is out in one more week. This year went by way too quickly. I had a ball... and I loved my classes. Nice to go out on such a great note. The future is blurry at best....but it's in God's hands, so I know all is well.

I just have to remind myself of that on a constant basis. Faith Mindy.... FAITH!!!

Day 265, 100 to go!

Hey, look at that....Only one hundred more days until I meet my blog-a-day for a year goal. Wow. I can do it :) When I get a little energy (ha ha) I will start putting in my daily quotes, Planet "M" updates, and RAKs again. But hey, meanwhile, I'll leave you with this:

RAK? Yup. Today I cut some gorgeous roses from my garden and took them to Patricia. ... And there is nothing in there for me (at least, I don't think???) Anyhow, she has a ton on her plate these days. I hope getting flowers gave her a little boost.

Planet "M" update--- CST Testing has officially begun. Now we find out if all the hard work has paid off. Go kids!! Test your best :) We are watching Remember the Titans during Advisement. I love that movie :)

All's quiet on the book front. ... ... ... Thinking about the sequel. ... ... ... Still thinking...

Day 59, The fog rolls in...

Hey Jenny, are you listening? (I say listening because you are a writer...and writers don't just read the words on a page, they hear the words in their mind---ah, those wonderful voices in our heads!) Don't you dare throw in the towel. You know in your heart that you were born to write--and write you should. No matter what it takes, get your book in print. I don't care if you finally resort to the new fashion of self-publishing, but do not quit on yourself. I received a very nice letter from a publisher in Florida who encouraged me to start small, even self-publish, just so I could go through the process and be able to say I've been published. In her words, "If your book does well, you won't need to query for agents, they will come looking for you."
If you believe you wrote a good book and that people will enjoy reading it, then stand by it. You owe it to your characters to share their story with any and all who are willing to read it.
Right now, you see nothing but the fog, yet cloaked in that fog is your path to success. Keep pressing forward. Always.

Planet "M" -- Tonight I created "Harry Potter and the Subordinate Clause." I figure a little bit of magic and a wizard's wand couldn't hurt.
